Getting the best out of your handcrafted goods is simple. Here is how I care for my candles and soaps, so you can enjoy their freshness and fragrance for longer.

To help you get the most out of your candle, I've put together these top tips. Following these simple steps, like trimming the wick and allowing a full melt pool on the first burn, will ensure a clean, even burn every time.

Here is a crucial tip for your first candle burn. Ensuring the wax melts across the entire surface helps prevent 'tunnelling', which allows you to enjoy your candle for its maximum burn time.

My handcrafted soaps are different from commercial ones because they contain natural glycerin and essential oils. This guide explains the best way to store them to preserve their freshness and fragrance.

Here are some facts about the shelf life of my soaps. While they last for about 12 months, I recommend using them within 6 months to enjoy the freshest feel and the most vibrant scent from the essential oils.

To help you style your home with fragrance, here is a list of my popular Fall and Winter scents. Choose from warm and spicy options like Oud & Patchouli or cozy scents like Dark Coffee and Coco Vanilla.

This graphic explains the benefits of my Jasmine Ylang-Ylang fragrance. It's a slightly sweet, earthy floral scent known for its relaxing and stress-relieving properties, perfect for creating a calm atmosphere.

My idea of a perfect weekend. There's nothing better than cozying up with a good book and the gentle glow and fragrance of a handpoured scented candle.

About Scent & Care Guide

The biggest secret to a long-lasting soy candle is the first burn. When you light it for the first time, let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the jar before blowing it out. This creates a memory ring in the wax that prevents tunnelling, ensuring your candle burns evenly every single time. It is a small step, but it makes a world of difference for your home's fragrance.

Caring for Your Soy Candles

I pour my candles with love, but they need a little attention to shine. Always trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (5mm) before each burn. This stops the flame from getting too large and keeps the smoke away. If you chose a wooden wick, make sure to gently break off any charred wood before relighting.

Remember to keep your candles away from drafts, kids, and pets, and never leave them burning unattended. A little care goes a long way in making your candle last those 35 to 50 hours of burn time.

Storing Handmade Soaps

Unlike commercial soaps found in stores, my artisan bars are rich in natural glycerin and essential oils. They are happier in a cool, dry place.

  • Do: Keep them in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
  • Don't: Do not refrigerate or store them in high-humidity areas like an AC room.

I recommend using my soaps within 6 months of purchase. While they are safe to use for up to a year, the vibrant scent of the essential oils is most potent when the bar is fresh.

Finding Your Scent

Whether you love the earthy, stress-relieving notes of Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang or the cozy warmth of Dark Coffee and Coco Vanilla, fragrance is personal. If you are unsure which scent suits your mood, I am always happy to help you pick the right one for your space.
