When the music calls for higher BPMs and tribal energy, I step into my Pulse persona. This is where I explore the faster, deeper psychedelic side of the dancefloor.

This is the official poster for my performance as Pulse at the Dhwani Festival in Parvati Valley, Kasol. Playing a morning psytrance set in the heart of the Himalayas is a spiritual experience.

Sharing the stage with psytrance legends Infected Mushroom was an absolute honor. This poster for the event at Club Soho, New Delhi, marks a huge milestone for my Pulse project.

Hilltop in Goa is where it all started for me in 1996. Returning to this legendary venue to play as Pulse for a Sunday day party felt like coming home.

About Pulse: The Psytrance Journey

For my Pulse sets, I focus heavily on the low-end frequency response. I always request a sound check to ensure the sub-woofers can handle the 138 to 145 BPM range, so the bassline hits with the necessary punch on the floor.

Pulse is a different beast compared to my standard techno sets. While my Mashter persona is about dark progressive builds, Pulse is about full-power energy. I transition from progressive psy to full-on psytrance, keeping the tempo tight to maintain momentum.

Technically, this requires a specific approach. I look for linkable decks to ensure my mixing speed remains precise during those high-speed transitions. Since these sets are designed for rave settings and early morning mountain slots, I prioritize a dedicated sound check to tune the audio output for the galloping basslines that define the genre.

I have brought this sound to historic venues like Hilltop in Goa and into the Himalayas for the Dhwani Festival in Kasol. It is about creating a transcendental feeling, whether you are under the sun or in an intimate club environment. If you are booking this performance, expect an immersive narrative that keeps the energy locked from the first track to the last.
