My Cricketing Journey & Coaching Philosophy
Cricket is a love affair that stays with you for life. From my Ranji Trophy debut to coaching the next generation, here is what drives my game and my training.
This cap is very special to me. It's from my Ranji Trophy debut match for Delhi in the 2010/11 season. A memory I will cherish forever.
Looking at my Ranji Trophy debut cap. It reminds me of the journey, the hard work, and the passion that cricket demands.
A throwback to bowling in the IPL nets to Delhi Capitals batsman Abhishek Porel. Bowling to top-level players is the ultimate test of your skills.
Bowling to an IPL player is always a great challenge. It pushes you to be at your absolute best. Here I am with a champion bowler.
In the IPL nets, every ball is a contest. You have to be smart and execute your skills perfectly against the best batsmen in the world.
Another clip from the IPL nets. The intensity and quality of practice at this level is something I try to bring to my own coaching sessions.
A friendly but competitive net session against IPL player Prince Choudhary. Iron sharpens iron.
Facing an IPL leg-spinner like Prince in the nets. You have to move differently when you want different results.
Another net battle with IPL player Prince Choudhary. Who do you think won this contest?
With Arshdeep Singh during an IPL season. It's always great to connect with and learn from other top bowlers.
About My Cricketing Journey & Philosophy
When I say 'surrender to the coach', I mean trusting the process enough to strip back your technique and rebuild it from the ground up. In our sessions at Nizamuddin East, we do not just run through drills. We focus on the specific biomechanics—your hip drive, head position, and arm path—that actually turn a casual bowler into a wicket-taker.
Cricket is not just a game for me. It is a love affair, a drug, and a lifetime commitment. Having played for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, I learned that success is not about chasing glory. It is about becoming capable. My coaching philosophy is simple: 'Kaabil bano, kaamyaabi khud peeche ayegi' (Become capable, success will follow).
Many parents come to me asking how to choose a coach. My advice is always the same. Ignore the social media followers and look at the work. Does the coach understand the technical side of the game? Can they fix a flaw in your bowling action or improve your batting technique?
My coaching method is built on honesty and hard work. Whether we are training at the Quetta DAV Cricket Training Center or connecting online from across the globe, we prioritize muscle memory over empty repetitions. We start with the basics, like grip and seam position, before moving to complex variations like the doosra or carrom ball.
This is not just for professionals. I coach kids as young as eight and adults who have been away from the game for years. The only requirement I have is hunger. If you bring the hunger, I will bring the technique, the biomechanical analysis, and the match simulations to prepare you for the real pressure of the middle.
