Get Unready With Me: How to Remove Makeup Safely
Makeup is fun, but the real test is taking it off. I don't believe in aggressive scrubbing that hurts your skin. Here is how I remove heavy glam without stripping my natural glow.
This is my double-cleansing method for gently removing heavy makeup. I start with micellar water to break down eye and lip makeup, then use a cleansing balm to melt everything else away before washing.
My quick, uncut 'get unready with me' routine for when you're exhausted. This makeup-removing face wash is a game-changer, taking everything off in one simple step.
About Get Unready With Me
Stop scrubbing your eyes like you’re trying to erase a bad memory. If you want to keep your skin barrier intact, you need to break down the product, not your face. I use a strict double-cleansing method—micellar water for eyes and lips, followed by a balm for the base—because heavy makeup needs to be melted off, not wiped away with harsh, drying wipes.
Getting unready isn't just about finishing the day. It is the foundation for your skin tomorrow. If you wake up with leftover mascara or, god forbid, a breakout, it is usually because of lazy removal. I teach this in my workshops in Bengaluru because knowing how to cleanse is as important as knowing how to contour.
The Double-Cleansing Method
Double cleansing is not just a trend. You need to emulsify your foundation and waterproof gunk effectively. For eyes and lips, micellar water is my go-to. Don't drag it across your skin. Just press, hold for a few seconds, and gently lift. That gives the product time to do the work. Then, use a cleansing balm or a gentle oil to massage the rest of your face. If you are in a pinch, cold-pressed coconut oil works too, but ensure you wash it off thoroughly.
Respecting Your Real Skin
My skin has texture, pores, and lines. Yours does too. I am not hiding that with a filter. My 'Get Unready With Me' videos are raw because you deserve to see what actually works without the marketing fluff. Whether you are a bride-to-be learning to manage your own vanity kit or just someone tired of clogged pores, start by respecting your skin barrier. Stop using those cheap makeup wipes that dry you out and start cleaning with care. Your skin will thank you in the morning.
