Mehndi Design Practice and Artistic Process
Mehndi is not just work, it is my shiddat wala pyaar (passionate love). Before any design touches your skin, it starts here—on paper, in my studio, with constant practice to perfect every single line.
As I always say, practice is the key to becoming good in any field. Here I am in my studio, preparing fresh henna cones for my next client. The quality of the cone is just as important as the skill of the artist.

Here I am, lost in my work, sketching new designs. This is my passion, and I am always trying to improve and bring something new and beautiful for my clients.
If you want to get good mehndi or learn good mehndi, you have to practice. This video shows me working on a complex design on a practice sheet.
A design sketch for a client. We often create a paper template first to ensure the final design is exactly what the client wants. This one features a beautiful lotus motif.
Practicing a circular floral pattern. These intricate mandalas require a lot of precision and a steady hand, which only comes with hours of dedicated practice.
Working on a peacock design on a practice board. The details in the feathers and the body of the peacock are what make these designs so special.
This video shows the process of filling in a complex design on a practice sheet. You can see how different elements like peacocks, lotuses, and geometric patterns come together.
Practicing a detailed, ornamental design. This kind of intricate work is often used in our high-end bridal packages.

About My Hunar: The Art of Practice
Practice is not just about repetition, it is how I refine the flow of my lines before I ever touch skin. Whether it is the precision of a lotus motif or the density of a traditional jaali, I spend hours sketching on paper templates to ensure the final result on your hands is clean, dark, and exactly what you envisioned.
My studio in Goregaon West is where the process begins. I do not believe in off-the-rack designs or quick fixes. Every bride is different, and every hand tells a unique story, which is why I use paper templates and sketches to map out exactly how a pattern will sit on your skin. This ensures that the symmetry is perfect and the spacing is balanced before I even pick up a henna cone.
I focus heavily on the quality of my work and the ingredients I use. Every cone I prepare is made with 100% natural, chemical-free henna. This is the only way to guarantee the deep, dark stain that my clients expect. My approach to bridal mehndi blends traditional Indian styles—like Marwari and Rajasthani dense patterns—with the clean, bold lines of Arabic art. Whether you are looking for simple mandala work for an engagement or a full-arm portrait bridal design, the attention to detail remains the same.
Beyond bridal work, I also specialize in custom designs where I can weave specific elements like dates, hashtags, or personal motifs into your mehndi. If you have a Pinterest design in mind, bring it to me. I will not just copy it; I will adapt it to suit your hands, ensuring the final look enhances your natural beauty rather than overpowering it. I am available to travel throughout Mumbai to ensure your mehndi experience is as stress-free as it is beautiful.
Manish Mehndi Art
I am Manish, and for me, mehndi is about much more than just the final look. I treat every cone like a tool of my craft, constantly sketching new patterns to ensure your mehndi is never a generic copy-paste job. I believe that if you want something beautiful, you need an artist who is obsessed with the details.
