Behind the Scenes: My Custom Mehandi Process
Mehandi is more than just a pattern; it is your story on your hands. Here is how I practice, prepare, and bring your unique vision to life, from my sketchpad to the final stain.
Practice makes perfect. This video shows my process of creating a mehandi portrait of cricketer Virat Kohli, from sketching the outline to filling in the details.
A short video showing me at work, carefully applying an Arabic-style design on a client's hand. I am available for bookings in Roha, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, and Mumbai.
A beautifully shot video of a traditional bridal mehandi design, decorated with flowers. This shows the final look before the henna paste is removed.
I am always practicing to perfect my craft. This video shows a practice session where I work on traditional motifs like elephants and peacocks on paper.
About My Artistic Process
I do not believe in copy-paste designs. Before I ever touch your skin with a cone, I spend time in my sketchpad mapping out the specific motifs, portraits, or symbols that match your love story. Whether it is a portrait of your partner or a specific deity, I practice the flow and detailing on paper first so that when I sit with you, the final application is seamless, precise, and completely yours.
When you choose a custom bridal design, you are not just paying for the final application. You are paying for the hours of preparation that happen long before your wedding day. Every piece of art I create begins with a rough sketch. Whether you want a portrait or a traditional Vithu-Mauli motif, I test the proportions and flow on paper to ensure it looks natural on your hand.
The Foundation of a Rich Stain
The most beautiful design will fade quickly if the henna is not right. I mix my own organic henna paste, using triple-sifted Rajasthani powder and eucalyptus oil. I do not use store-bought, chemical-heavy cones because the depth of the stain matters as much as the intricacy of the lines. This is why I always recommend a lemon-sugar sealant after application—it locks the dye deep into the skin, ensuring that rich, dark maroon color that pops in your professional wedding photos.
Designing Your Story
I specialize in bringing personal elements into the mehandi. If you have a specific proposal scene, a wedding date, or a religious symbol that holds meaning for your family, tell me during the initial consultation. I take these elements and blend them into traditional motifs like peacocks, elephants, or geometric jali (netting) patterns. My goal is to make your mehandi as unique as your relationship, not just a standard catalog design.
