My Approach to Wildlife Photography
I’m Mandar, and being behind the camera is how I slow down to really see the wild. From Mumbai’s wetlands to the forests of Dandeli, I spend my days patiently waiting for that perfect, fleeting moment to tell a story.
In my favourite camouflage gear, with my trusty Sony A7RIV and 200-600mm lens. This is where I feel most at home, out on the road, patiently waiting for nature to reveal its stories.
About About Me
You will mostly find me in full camo gear, waiting for hours for a kingfisher splash or a rare bird sighting. I do not just show up and shoot; I scout locations, watch the light, and adjust to the animal's rhythm. Whether you are looking for 1-on-1 mentorship in the field or professional biodiversity documentation, my process is entirely built on patience and deep respect for the wild.
Photography is my way of slowing down. My setup is simple: a Sony A7RIV paired with a 200-600mm lens. This combination lets me keep a respectful distance while capturing the fine details of feathers and fur, ensuring the animals stay undisturbed.
My shooting days often start before dawn in places like the Panvel wetlands or the forests of Karnala. I believe that good wildlife photography isn't about being fast; it’s about being still. Whether it's the 'colour bomb' of an Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher or the subtle movement of a garden lizard, I am looking for the story behind the frame.
I offer two main ways to work with me:
- Field Mentorship: A 10-hour private session where we focus on your gear, your camera settings, and finding the right subject. We will cover everything from ISO management to predicting animal behavior.
- Commercial Documentation: I provide high-resolution, 61MP biodiversity images for websites or brochures, focusing on natural light and ethical field practices.
