If you are planning a traditional braided look, please let me know if you want to use your own hair or if you would like me to bring a false hair extension (Savri) to add volume. I always recommend testing the weight of your Jada Billas and hair accessories during the trial so you are completely comfortable on your big day, because wearing a heavy braid for hours is no small thing.
Hairstyling is more than just pinning flowers in place. It is about balancing the weight so you can enjoy your event without a headache. For South Indian weddings, the Poola Jada is the showstopper. I focus on the structure using sturdy extensions to ensure the braid stays in place from the early morning Muhurtham until the final ceremony ends.
For reception and engagement parties, I shift to modern techniques. If you want Hollywood waves or a messy bun, I use thermal tools and setting sprays that survive the Bangalore humidity. I also make sure the hair accessories, whether they are fresh jasmine (malle) or delicate hair vines, are secured firmly so you can dance or walk on stage without worrying.
