Fashion & Editorial Makeup Artistry
Editorial makeup requires precision, texture, and a deep understanding of lighting. From high-fashion jewelry campaigns to creative brand shoots, I design looks that translate perfectly to the camera lens.
For this high-fashion jewelry shoot, we went with a clean, radiant look to let these stunning ruby and diamond pieces shine. The skin is polished and the makeup is minimal.
A video glimpse of the jewelry shoot. The makeup was designed to be earthy and radiant, enhancing the model's features without competing with the statement jewels.
A modern styling with a classic blazer. The makeup remains sharp and clean, focusing on strong brows and flawless skin to complement the emerald and polki jewelry.
A softer pose from the same shoot. You can see the subtle contour and the way the highlighter catches the light, giving the skin a beautiful dimension.
Here, the focus is on the colorful choker and ring. The eye makeup is kept very neutral and soft, with a warm nude lip, to balance the look.
A dramatic chandelier earring calls for elegant and understated makeup. The skin is the main story here, looking smooth and luminous.
A moody, artistic video from the shoot. The play of light and shadow highlights the bone structure and the sparkle of the diamond choker.
A little behind-the-scenes flex. This video shows the transition from the camera monitor to the final stunning shots.
Channeling vintage elegance for this photoshoot. We created a modern take on a classic look with a defined eye, a berry lip, and luminous skin.
The dramatic posing and lighting in this shot required makeup that could hold its own. The sculpted cheeks and defined eyes add to the moody, elegant vibe.
About Fashion & Editorial Work
When shooting for brands or editorials, the makeup needs to handle strong studio lights without looking flat or overdone. I focus on specific skin textures and light-catching finishes to ensure that your jewelry or clothing remains the hero of the frame, rather than competing with the face.
Commercial and editorial work is a different beast compared to bridal makeup. While bridal sessions are about emotional endurance and long-wear, editorial work is all about camera-readiness. I collaborate closely with the styling and photography team to understand the mood, whether it is a moody vintage aesthetic or a bright, clean commercial jewelry campaign.
My process for these shoots involves:
- Lighting Assessment: I analyze the lighting setup to decide on the finish. For high-contrast studio shots, I keep the skin matte but dimensional. For outdoor or natural light campaigns, I lean into the dewy 'glass skin' look that creates a soft, radiant glow.
- Structural Definition: I pay extra attention to facial structure. Stronger contouring and defined eyes often look better under intense photography strobes, and I ensure every line is sharp without appearing harsh.
- Brand Alignment: Whether you need earthy, minimal tones for a polki jewelry shoot or something bold and high-fashion, I adapt my technique to suit the product.
I have worked extensively with jewelry brands in Mumbai to create looks that elevate the product. If you have a creative brief and need an artist who understands how to work with photographers to get the perfect shot, let's talk.
