Close-Up Magic & Tricks Workshops
I teach kids how to turn simple items like tissues and playing cards into moments of pure wonder. My workshops focus on sleight of hand and confidence building, right here in Bengaluru.
A simple cup and a piece of tissue paper. That's all you need to create a moment of impossibility. In my workshops, I teach kids how to use everyday items to perform amazing magic tricks just like this one.
Is it just sugar, or is it something more? This is a fun and visual trick that always gets a great reaction. It's a perfect example of the kind of simple, yet effective, magic I teach to kids.
About Close-Up Magic & Tricks
The most important part of my close-up magic workshop isn't the trick itself, but what happens before the performance. I spend a significant amount of time teaching kids how to manage stage fright, maintain eye contact, and control their breathing. Whether it's a vanishing coin or a card prediction, the goal is to help your child feel comfortable enough to say 'puriyutha?' (do you understand?) and engage their audience with a smile.
Why Close-Up Magic?
I believe magic shouldn't be about expensive props or stage setups. In these sessions, we focus on 'Close-Up' magic—tricks that happen right in the hands of the performer. We use everyday items found in any home, like rubber bands, tissue paper, and standard decks of cards. This makes the magic accessible; a child can learn a trick in my workshop and perform it for family or friends immediately after.
The Confidence Factor
When I was starting out, I struggled with stage fright and feeling useless. My workshops are built to fix that for others. We don't just practice sleight of hand basics like palming or misdirection. We work on:
- Voice Modulation: How to speak clearly while performing.
- Body Language: Staying calm and projecting confidence even when things don't go perfectly.
- Audience Interaction: Learning to handle interruptions and keep the energy high. We want to hear the audience say 'joragi chappale hodibeku' (we need loud applause) by the end of the set.
Workshop Details
I host these sessions in small batches of 5 to 15 kids at my studio in Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru. This ensures I can give each student personal attention, correcting their hand movements and helping them polish their performance style. Whether it's a one-off 90-minute introductory session or the 5-day certification course, every student walks away with a starter kit and the knowledge to perform 3 to 10 distinct tricks. If you have a group of curious kids or want to help your child find their creative spark, let's connect.
