The parachute activity is a camp favorite for teaching teamwork. Children must work together to make the parachute rise and fall, learning about cooperation and interpersonal interaction in a very visual way.
Dancing in a group improves more than just physical health. It encourages socialization and enhances emotional and cognitive development as children learn to move in sync with others.
Learning is most effective when it's fun. This session combines paper tearing art with group interaction, allowing children's absorbent minds to grasp new textures, shapes, and social cues.

About Teamwork & Friendship
We don't just tell kids to play together; we use structured activities like parachute games to make cooperation tangible. By focusing on collective goals, like moving the parachute in sync or coordinating dance steps, children naturally learn to communicate and share space without the need for constant adult intervention.
Building Social Skills Through Structured Play
At Launchpad, we view social development as a core pillar of our after-school programs. Children between the ages of 2.5 and 7.5 are at a stage where they are learning to navigate their own needs alongside those of their peers. Our activities are designed to facilitate this transition from independent play to collaborative interaction.
Why Group Dynamics Matter
- Communication: Through circle time and team games, children learn to listen, wait for their turn to speak, and express their ideas.
- Empathy and Sharing: Working on joint art projects or shared cooking tasks teaches children how to negotiate, compromise, and appreciate different perspectives.
- Conflict Resolution: We provide a safe space where children can navigate minor disagreements and learn to find common ground under the guidance of our facilitators.
Our Approach to Cooperation
Our programs in Chanakyapuri use a mix of physical and creative activities to break the ice. Parachute games require physical coordination and collective effort, while our 'Around the Globe' themes encourage children to share cultural discoveries. This hands-on, collaborative learning approach helps children build essential life skills—like teamwork and patience—that serve them well beyond the classroom walls. Whether it is a science experiment that requires two sets of hands or a dance routine that relies on everyone staying in sync, the focus is always on the 'we' rather than the 'me'.
