About Mountain & Glamping Retreats
When I shoot a glamping dome or a mountain homestay, my focus isn't just on the architecture but on how it sits within the landscape. I often wait for the 'blue hour' or the moment the morning mist clears to get that perfect shot where the property feels like it is truly part of the forest, not just built on top of it.
Capturing the Mountain Vibe
Shooting in the mountains requires patience. Unlike urban environments, you are at the mercy of shifting weather, passing clouds, and the changing light of the Himalayas. My approach is to move away from static, catalogue-style shots and towards storytelling. Whether it is a geodesic dome in an apple orchard or a traditional yoga shala tucked away in the Dhauladhar range, I look for the 'sukoon'—the peace—that defines the guest experience.
My Technical Approach
- FPV Fly-throughs: I use the DJI Avata 2 to glide through your property. This gives guests a sense of the flow, making them feel like they are walking through the front door themselves.
- Aerial Context: I use Mavic drones to showcase the property's isolation and its surroundings—the rivers, the valley, and the tree line. This is crucial for mountain properties where the 'view' is often the biggest selling point.
- Natural Lighting: I prioritize Golden Hour and Blue Hour. These times provide soft, flattering light that makes wooden structures and natural textures look inviting rather than stark.
Why it Matters
For remote properties in Uttarakhand or Himachal, your visuals are the only way a guest can 'touch' the experience before they book. I handle the decluttering and prop arrangement on-site, so when we shoot, we focus on the raw beauty. My goal is to create images that make someone pause their scrolling and say, 'I need to be there.'
