The Art of the Portrait: Live Alla Prima Sessions

There's a special energy when painting someone live. Most of these portraits are done "alla prima" or all in one sitting, usually over 3 to 5 hours, which challenges me to capture a likeness and a feeling quickly. I love the process of studying the play of light and shadow on a face and the shared experience of creating with the model.

Capturing the Human Form: Figure Studies

Figure studies are essential for an artist. These sessions, often done with a group of fellow artists, are an incredible learning opportunity. We focus on understanding anatomy, gesture, and how light falls on the human form, working together to capture the grace and complexity of our models.

Delhi, My Muse: Urban Sketches

I love capturing the crazy, beautiful energy of Delhi in my sketchbooks. From the quiet grandeur of ancient tombs to the chaotic charm of its bustling streets, every corner has a story. I often go out with the Urban Sketchers Delhi group, and we spend our Sundays documenting this incredible city with ink and watercolor.

Postcards from Italy: Watercolors and Oils

My travels through Italy have been a huge source of inspiration. I fill my sketchbooks on location and then bring those memories back to my studio to create larger paintings in both watercolor and oil. This collection is my attempt to capture the unique light, ancient architecture, and unforgettable feeling of cities like Florence, Verona, and Pisa.

Landscapes of India: From Konkan Greens to Varanasi Ghats

This collection celebrates the diverse and beautiful landscapes of India. I love switching between the lush, tropical greens of the Konkan coast, the spiritual serenity of the Varanasi ghats, and the everyday energy of streets in cities like Prayagraj. Each painting is a memory and a story, created using vibrant watercolors.

Welcome to my studio. This is my favorite room in my home, a place where I find peace and solace every day. Here’s a little peek at my creative process, the materials I love to use, and some of the still life studies I create to practice and explore.

Sharing My Art: Exhibitions & Community

For me, art is also about connection. I feel so grateful for every chance I get to share my work at exhibitions and to be part of a thriving artist community. Here are some moments from various group shows, workshops I've attended, and workshops I've had the pleasure of teaching.
