Integrated Work & Study Nooks for Small Bedrooms
A small bedroom doesn't mean you can't have a dedicated workspace. We design desks that flow into your wardrobe or float on your walls, keeping your floor clear and your mind focused.
This bedroom makeover shows my approach to creating a sophisticated adult space. I use a combination of built-in wardrobes, floating bookshelves, and a seamless corner desk to build a complete bedroom and office solution that feels uncluttered and modern.
This design transforms the space in front of a window into a long, functional desk and vanity area. The setup is surrounded by custom, back-lit shelving and wardrobes, creating a bright and organized workspace within the bedroom.
This modern bedroom features a sleek, floating desk that spans the length of the window. The minimalist design with handleless drawers provides a clean, expansive workspace without the bulk of a traditional desk.
This concept shows how a simple desk and a platform bed can be combined to create a multi-level workspace. The raised platform can serve as a guest bed or a reading nook, separated from the main desk area.
Here, I've combined a bed, bookshelf, wardrobe, and desk into one cohesive unit. This all-in-one approach is ideal for studio apartments or small guest rooms, providing all necessary functions while keeping the layout open.
This small room design combines a bed with an overhead storage unit that extends into a floating desk. This leaves the floor space open and creates a dedicated work area, complemented by a vertical bookshelf for extra storage.
In this bedroom redesign, I used a large platform that serves as both a bed base and a seating area. The room is completed with modular wooden cabinets and a floating desk, creating a flexible and modern living space.
About this collection
Getting a workspace to fit without making your room feel cramped is all about vertical planning. We avoid bulky legs or standalone tables; instead, we anchor your desk to the wall or integrate it directly into your wardrobe frame. It keeps the floor visual space open, which makes a massive difference in the compact apartment bedrooms we see across Bangalore.
When you have limited square footage, the desk shouldn't be an afterthought. Our approach to integrated work and study nooks centers on multi-functionality. We look at your bedroom layout and find the 'dead' zones—the wall next to your bed, the gap between the window and the wardrobe, or even the space above your headboard.
We typically build these units using 18mm MR or BWR plywood, finished with high-quality laminate to match your existing interiors. If you have a tight corner, we can design a floating desk that uses gas-lift mechanisms for overhead cabinets, ensuring you get storage without the visual heaviness of a full cupboard.
We don't just build furniture; we solve for the wires, too. Every workstation includes pre-drilled grommets and concealed channels so you aren't dealing with a mess of cables on your desk surface. Whether you need a compact laptop stand or a full study area that hides away completely when your workday ends, we start the process with 3D visuals. This lets you see exactly where your knees will hit and where your monitor will sit before we cut a single piece of wood.
