About Club & Lounge Gigs
When I step into a club, the sound check is non-negotiable. I like to arrive at least 60 minutes before the first set to test the venue's PA system against my controller. This ensures the transitions between my commercial Bollywood tracks and deep house mixes are smooth, without any jarring audio spikes or muddy bass.
My approach to a club gig is simple: read the room and keep the energy climbing. I don't just hit play on a pre-recorded mix. I work with the crowd, pushing the volume or switching genres when I see the vibe shift.
My sets usually fall into two categories, depending on what the venue needs:
- Full Power Commercial: This is my bread and butter for club nights. It’s a mix of Bollywood, Punjabi, and Retro disco that hits home for the Mumbai crowd. It is about big energy, high tempo, and getting the room shouting along to 'Purani Jeans' or the latest chart-toppers.
- B40 Sessions: When the crowd wants something deeper, I switch to my B40 alter ego. This is for the house music heads and indie tech lovers who want that soulful, steady build. It’s perfect for lounge settings where the music needs to sustain a mood rather than just drive a dance floor frenzy.
I am comfortable on industry-standard Pioneer CDJ/Mixer setups, and I’m used to managing the flow of the night, from early evening warm-ups to peak-time madness.
