Instead, I layer textures—velvet drapes against crisp acrylic, mirrored surfaces to catch the candlelight, and floral structures that add height rather than bulk. It is about creating a sense of drama that feels intentional and elegant, not chaotic.
Designing with jewel tones is a delicate dance between opulence and atmosphere. When a client asks for a red theme, the immediate temptation is to saturate the space, but my focus is on depth.
The Art of the Red Palette
To make a deep red or emerald theme work, we treat the venue as a canvas for contrast. I utilize mirrored dining tables to reflect candlelight and floral centerpieces, ensuring the dark tones don't flatten the room. We pair rich, tactile fabrics like crushed velvet or silk with clean, modern lines—think geometric gold grids or sharp acrylic signage—to ground the dramatic colors in a sophisticated frame.
