My Design Projects and Industry Recognition
I don't design homes to look like museums. Here is a look at my work, the materials I trust, and why the industry recognizes my 'no-nonsense' approach to building.
I was so honored to receive the Best Design Educator Award at Darc Build. This is a testament to our mission at HoumeIndia of making life better through practical and accessible design advice. It was wonderful to share the stage with so many talented creators in the Indian design community.
At the Marino Meco exhibition, I found this unique countertop material, Merino Hanex. It's a solid surface that can be curved, making it perfect for custom vanities and dining tables. While I wouldn't recommend it for a kitchen countertop without protection, its versatility for other furniture pieces is very impressive.
I had a great time at the FOAID Delhi exhibition, where I got to explore some of the best brands for Indian homes. It was inspiring to connect with the people behind brands like Vox and ICA Pidilite. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to see the latest innovations in ceilings, walls, and flooring all in one place.
Don't buy a flat without checking these things. I see so many people make mistakes with window direction, privacy, and Vastu. This video is a summary of my top tips to ensure you are making a smart investment. For a complete checklist, just comment and I will share it with you.
This is a glimpse into one of my projects, showing the transformation from a bare space to a beautifully finished room. Here you can see the furniture and panelling work coming together to create a warm and inviting passage area. It's all about the details.
Here is another before-and-after shot from a project site. This image captures the finishing work in progress, with the bed and false ceiling installed. Seeing a design come to life, from the initial plan to the final touches, is the most rewarding part of my job.
About My Work & Recognition
My work isn't about chasing trends; it is about solving real problems for Indian families. Whether I am analyzing new materials like solid surfaces at the Marino Meco exhibition or receiving the Best Design Educator Award at Darc Build, my focus remains consistent. I am here to bridge the gap between complex architecture and your actual, everyday needs at home.
Why I do what I do
Most people think interior design is just about aesthetic choices, but if your home isn't functional, you've wasted your money. My projects and collaborations are built on a simple philosophy: if it doesn't solve a problem, don't use it.
Learning from the ground up
I don't just sit in an office. I spend time at exhibitions like FOAID and Darc Build because that is where the industry is actually evolving. When I talk about Vox wall panels or why I recommend specific materials like full-body tiles over traditional ones, it is because I have seen them in action. For example, while I might admire the versatility of Merino Hanex for a vanity, I will also tell you exactly why you should not use it for a kitchen countertop without specific protection.
My design philosophy
My 'Best Design Educator' award was a proud moment, but it also confirmed one thing: people are tired of vague, marketing-heavy advice. You want to know:
- Why your wooden window frames are a termite magnet and what to use instead.
- Why your 'fancy' layout might actually be a nightmare to clean.
- How to get a luxury vibe without throwing money at unnecessary false ceilings or materials that won't last.
I treat every project as an opportunity to test these theories. From the transformation of a bare, echoing room into a finished, cozy space to ensuring your electrical points are exactly where you need them, I am obsessed with the details that actually make life better. If you are looking for someone to agree with your bad ideas, I am not your guy. If you are looking for someone to help you build a home that is safe, efficient, and truly yours, let’s talk.
