What I Really Do
- I focus on practical design, not just pretty pictures.
- I’ll tell you which material will be a headache later and where you can save your money.
- My funda? Style and comfort that lasts, without burning a hole in your pocket. Use your head, not just your heart.
Getting the Basics Right
- Flooring: No tiny 2x2 tiles, please. Larger tiles (like 2.5x5 ft or 4x8 ft) mean fewer grout lines and a way more premium look. If you’re renting, SPC flooring is a game-changer.
- Walls: Simple paint is okay, but mouldings or an accent wall with texture paint can upgrade the vibe without costing a bomb.
- Doors & Windows: Wooden frames? Kabhi mat lagana! (Never install them!) I push for granite or full-body tile frames for solid, termite-proof door frames. Switch to UPVC or System Aluminium windows for peace of mind.
Lighting, Kitchens & Furniture
- Good lighting doesn’t need a false ceiling. I work with layered home lighting solutions using surface lights, pendants, and lamps.
- Kitchens: Only waterproof plywood for wardrobes and cabinets; trust me, regular ply won’t survive our tadkas.
- Furniture: Modular kitchen design ideas and factory-made pieces mean better finish, faster installation.
- Wardrobes: Designed for your habits, not just for show. Rattan and cane laminates are my current favs for a fresh, budget-friendly look.
