We build a strong foundation for young athletes, focusing on motor skills, coordination, and a love for the game through structured, fun sessions.

Here you can see our four-year-old players learning the basics of dribbling. I focus on teaching them how to keep the ball close to their stick and maintain control while moving.

Young players practice basic ball control by maneuvering around cones. This simple drill is essential for developing hand-eye coordination and getting comfortable with the hockey stick.

A group of our junior players working in unison on a stationary ball control drill. I use commands like "Left, Right" to build rhythm and ensure they master the feel of the ball on both sides of the stick.

Our youngest players, the toddlers, are practicing a new dribbling drill through a series of cones. This helps them learn to change direction while maintaining possession of the ball.

This is a warm-up drill with the stick, where young players practice their dribbling and movement. Getting the stick and ball involved early in the session prepares them for more complex skill work.

This drill focuses on ball control with lots of turns and twists. I set up the cones to challenge the players' agility and force them to use different parts of the stick to navigate the course.

A young player from our toddler group carefully dribbles the ball through a cone setup. We are always looking for more kids to join and build a strong team for the future.

In this drill, I challenge the kids to control the ball as "silently" as possible. This teaches them to use soft touches, which is a key component of advanced dribbling and receiving passes.

The focus here is intense. These toddlers are learning to control the ball by feel, without looking down. This sensory drill is incredibly impactful for developing natural stick skills.

About Youth Hockey Foundation (Ages 4+)

We focus on tactile drills, like our 'silent dribbling' exercise, which forces kids to feel the ball through the stick instead of constantly looking down. It builds natural hand-eye coordination early on, making the learning process less about pressure and more about developing instinctive muscle memory.
