My Additional Photography Projects & Event Coverage
I pick up my camera for more than just fashion. Whether it is a cultural stage performance or wildlife in the wetlands, I am constantly exploring new stories through my lens.
This is me in my element. When I'm not on a client shoot, you can often find me outdoors with my telephoto lens. This was taken while I was tracking flamingos near Navi Mumbai, a personal project that fuels my passion for photography.
I had the honor of creating promotional content for a Bharata Natyam Arangetram. This video showcases the graceful dancers and captures the cultural richness of the event, demonstrating my ability to handle event and performance photography.
About Additional Work
When I shoot events like a Bharata Natyam Arangetram, I focus on the rhythm of the performance rather than just recording the stage. It is about understanding the timing so that the final images reflect the discipline of the dancers and the energy of the cultural event. This same patience is what I bring to my personal projects, like tracking flamingos in the Navi Mumbai mudflats, where waiting for the right light and movement is everything.
Photography is my way of engaging with the world around me. While my commercial work focuses on fashion and products, these additional projects are where I sharpen my skills.
Why I Shoot Diverse Subjects
- Patience & Timing: My wildlife work, specifically capturing flamingos, taught me to anticipate movement before it happens. This translates directly to my event photography where I need to catch a dancer mid-leap or a candid smile in a crowd.
- Event Discipline: Covering cultural events like the Arangetram requires a deep respect for the occasion. I do not just click photos; I document the hard work behind the performance, ensuring the lighting and angles honor the effort put in by the performers.
- Technical Versatility: Whether I am using a telephoto lens in the Thane wetlands or a controlled setup for a stage performance, I enjoy testing my gear in different environments to keep my work fresh.
