Behind the Lens: My Photography Gear and Process in Mumbai
Equipment is just a tool, but knowing how to use it makes all the difference. Here is a look at my gear and the approach I take to capture real moments.
Out in the field with my telephoto lens. This behind the scenes photo shows me on location, ready to capture wildlife, showcasing the passion for photography that I bring to every project.
An unboxing of my Moza Aircross S gimbal. This piece of equipment is key to how I create smooth, stable, and cinematic video footage for corporate and event shoots.
About this collection
You will often see me with a Sony full-frame body and a gimbal for my video work. This specific setup allows me to move quickly through crowded festivals or event spaces without shaking, keeping your final video stable and cinematic even in the middle of a chaotic celebration.
I believe gear is a tool, not the magician. My style relies on being quick and unobtrusive. Whether I am shooting a Bharatanatyam Arangetram or a corporate launch, I want the audience to notice the performance, not my camera.
I use Sony Alpha full-frame cameras. They handle low light remarkably well, which is essential for indoor events or late-evening portraits where you do not want to use a harsh flash. For video, the Moza Aircross S is my go-to. It is compact, which means I can get angles others might struggle with, especially when filming cinematic B-roll at store openings or weddings.
I carry a mix of prime lenses and telephoto glass. Primes give me that soft, creamy background blur for portraits, while my telephoto lens is what I use to capture raw emotions from a distance. It lets me observe a candid moment without interrupting it. That is the key to my photography. If you are comfortable, the photos will look natural. My process is simple: I prepare the gear based on the environment so I can focus entirely on the subject, not the settings.
