I believe that 'hunar' (skill) is the true path to independence. My classes are completely hands-on, designed to take you from basic theory to advanced salon techniques.
In my hair classes, I start with the basics, like how to properly section hair. A clean section is the foundation for any great haircut, colour, or style.
Day 4 of our hair class, focusing on cutting theory. I am explaining the difference between cutting at a 0-degree angle for a straight cut versus a 90-degree angle for layers.
A hair knowledge class where I explain the science behind hair. Just like skin, hair has layers: the cuticle, cortex, and medulla. Understanding this is key to any chemical work.
Teaching the basic technique for creating hair curls. I show my students how to angle the curling iron away from the face to create a soft, open look that doesn't cover the forehead.
A practical session during my haircutting classes. I am teaching a student the right way to hold her scissors and create a guideline on a mannequin head.
