Natural Shampoo Bars Crafted for Healthy Hair
Ditch plastic bottles with my solid shampoo bars. I blend moringa and fermented rice water to cleanse gently, specifically formulated to handle Indian water conditions without harsh chemicals.
This video shows the making of my Moringa-Rice shampoo bar. I mix moringa powder into the oils and pour the batter into molds. These bars are a natural, plastic-free alternative to commercial shampoos.
Here I am stamping a fresh batch of Moringa-Rice shampoo bars. The tree-of-life stamp is my little symbol for the natural, plant-powered ingredients I use for healthy hair.
About Natural Shampoo Bars
If you are switching from bottled shampoo, expect a short transition phase. Because these bars are soap-based, your hair might feel different for the first few washes, especially if you have hard water. I always suggest a quick apple cider vinegar rinse afterward—it is the secret to keeping your hair soft and shiny while your scalp adjusts to natural ingredients.
Why switch to solid bars?
Most commercial shampoos use harsh surfactants like SLS that strip your scalp of natural oils. My bars are different. I use cold-process saponification, which creates a rich, creamy lather that cleanses without dryness. The process takes time—each bar cures for at least six weeks—but it ensures a bar that is hard, long-lasting, and incredibly mild.
The Moringa and Rice Water magic
I specifically chose Moringa for its nutrient density and fermented rice water for its traditional benefits in hair health. Together, they create a formula that strengthens hair while leaving it feeling manageable.
Practical tips for the best results
- Hard Water Handling: If your water is hard, the minerals can react with natural soap. A quick rinse with a mix of water and apple cider vinegar acts as a conditioner and removes any residue, leaving your hair shiny.
- Oiling: For the best results, I recommend oiling your hair overnight before using the bar.
- Storage: Since these are handmade and natural, keep your bar in a dry, well-draining dish between uses so it lasts longer.
Every bar is plastic-free and biodegradable, so you are doing your part for the planet with every wash. Because I make these in small batches, no two bars look exactly the same, but the care put into every single one remains consistent.
