A closer look at a traditional South Indian bridal style with a pink and gold Kanjivaram saree. This look was created for one of my masterclasses, focusing on achieving a flawless finish on dusky skin tones.

This half saree bridal drape combines a rich gold skirt with a vibrant red pallu. I ensure the pleats are sharp and the drape is secured neatly at the waist with a traditional oddiyanam.

This video showcases the movement and flow of a traditional red and gold half saree drape. It's essential that a bride can move comfortably without disturbing the pleats or pallu.
About this collection
A perfect Kanjivaram drape is more than just pinning fabric. I use specific stress-point reinforcement techniques to ensure your heavy temple jewellery stays in place and your saree remains structured, whether you are sitting for long rituals or moving during your reception.
The Technical Side of Draping
Every bride has unique needs. For South Indian weddings, the saree must support heavy harams and chokers without drooping. I use concealed pinning techniques to secure the pallu and pleats, ensuring they do not shift when you move. For the waist, I ensure the Vaddanam (waist belt) is tied securely to act as an anchor, preventing the saree from slipping—a common issue with heavy, slippery silk fabrics.
Why Pre-Pleating Works
If you are travelling for a destination wedding or have multiple functions, managing a heavy silk saree can be stressful. My pre-pleating and box folding service removes the guesswork. I calculate the pleats based on your height and waist measurements, steam-press them, and fold them to travel safely. You just step into the saree and pin it, saving you precious time on your wedding day.
Hygiene and Precision
Just as with my makeup and academy work, I apply a strict protocol to draping. I use thin-gauge pins to avoid damaging delicate zari threads and apply reverse ironing techniques for silk care. Whether it is a traditional muhurtham look or a modern reception drape, my goal is the same: the saree should feel like a second skin, allowing you to focus on your ceremony, not your outfit.
