Creative & Artistic Wedding Portraits
Forget the stiff, posed portraits. I use light, reflections, and a bit of experimental chaos to create images that look like art, not just standard photos.
An abstract, artistic portrait of the groom created using a kaleidoscope. This technique transforms a simple portrait into a unique piece of art, showing a different side of wedding photography.
A playful and creative portrait of the bride "playing chess" with her own reflections. Using mirrors, we created this fun, surreal image that showcases her personality in a unique way.
A creative black and white portrait using a spray of water to create a 'starburst' effect. This experimental technique results in a dynamic and abstract image that is full of energy.
I'm always looking for creative ways to tell your story. Here, the bride's reflection in the groom's sunglasses becomes a multi-layered portrait, a small detail that speaks volumes about their connection. It’s these little creative touches that make your photos unique.
A magical moment captured in a flurry of bubbles. The way the light catches each bubble creates a dreamy, festive atmosphere around the couple's kiss.
A portrait that plays with focus and depth. The groom is sharp in the foreground while the bride is softly blurred in the background, creating a layered composition with a cool, modern feel.
Using natural light and shadow to create a compelling composition. The bride is softly lit in the foreground while the groom stands in the background, creating a sense of story and anticipation.
A creative low-angle shot using red heart-shaped balloons to frame the couple. I often lie on the ground to find these unique perspectives that turn a simple prop into a powerful visual element.
A classic portrait with a vintage car, but with a creative twist. The composition gives the shot a cinematic, story-driven feel, like a scene from a classic film.
A portrait that uses the lines of a staircase to create a strong, dynamic composition. Placing the bride and groom on different levels adds depth and visual interest to the shot.
About Creative & Artistic Portraits
I often carry prisms, custom mirrors, and even spray bottles to sessions because standard shots don’t always tell the full story. You might find me lying on the ground or waiting for a specific angle to hit just right, but that extra time is what transforms a simple pose into a piece of art that feels genuinely yours.
Photography is my way of making sense of the chaos during a wedding. When I talk about creative portraits, I am not suggesting we stand still and smile for an hour. Instead, I look for ways to distort, reflect, and reframe your connection.
My Approach to Creative Portraits
- In-Camera Effects: Whether it is using a kaleidoscope to create a multi-layered image of the bride, or using mirrors to show the groom from two different perspectives, I prefer practical, in-camera techniques over heavy post-processing.
- The 'Arre Ho Jayega' Philosophy: Great artistic shots cannot be forced. If you are stressed about the camera, the photo will look stiff. My job is to keep the energy light so that when we do try these experimental shots—like shooting through water or using low angles—you are relaxed enough to let the moment happen.
- Light and Shadow: I hunt for drama. Sometimes this means a moody pier at dusk or the sharp light of a Gujarat haveli. I am always looking for natural frames, staircase lines, or even shadows that allow me to capture a cinematic, story-driven portrait.
What to Expect
If you book a creative session with me, we are going to explore. We might visit a location with architectural significance, or we might use simple props like balloons or vintage cars to add a touch of whimsy. These shoots are less about 'checking the box' for family photos and more about creating a visual chapter of your relationship that you would want to hang in your living room. If you have an idea, or even if you don't and just want to experiment, I am ready to guide you through it.
Clyde D'souza
Hi, I’m Clyde. I don’t just take pictures; I look for the story behind the reflection. Whether it’s playing with light in a Mumbai studio or finding unexpected angles at a destination shoot, I want to create portraits that don’t look like everyone else's.
