About A Baby Welcome: Powder Blue Dreams
The challenge with indoor baby welcomes is creating a sense of intimacy within larger banquet spaces. We achieved this by using a full ceiling drape to lower the visual height and pairing it with a custom bar featuring chinoiserie-style shelving, ensuring the decor felt cozy rather than like a standard hotel setup.
When we approach a baby welcome, the goal is to capture the softness of a new beginning. For this project, we focused on monochromatic layering. By using varying shades of powder blue, we prevented the decor from looking flat. The ceiling installation was the most crucial element here. By creating a cloud-like canopy with drapes, we transformed the perception of the venue height, pulling the room inward to feel protected.
We also designed the bar as a permanent-feeling fixture. Often, rental bars look out of place, but by building custom arch shelves with chinoiserie-style wallpaper, we turned a functional item into an aesthetic focal point. The floral installations, specifically the blue hydrangeas, were selected for their volume and texture, allowing us to soften the hard lines of the structure.
