Advanced Reconstructive and Restorative Surgery
From post-cancer reconstruction to burn scar revision, we focus on restoring both function and confidence. See our approach to complex surgical repair.
Facial reconstruction after skin cancer surgery is a critical part of my practice. Here, I explain how we removed a Basal Cell Carcinoma and then used a local flap of skin to repair the defect, ensuring the cancer is gone while maintaining the patient's natural facial structure.
A hair transplant isn't just for baldness; it can be a powerful tool for scar camouflage. This patient had a significant burn scar, and by transplanting hair follicles into the scar tissue, we were able to restore the hairline and conceal the area effectively.
This video demonstrates fat grafting for aging hands. We take the patient's own fat from another area and inject it into the hands to restore lost volume. This procedure reduces the appearance of prominent veins and tendons, resulting in more youthful looking hands.
About Advanced Reconstructive & Restorative Surgery
When dealing with skin cancer defects or deep burn scars, we use local tissue flaps like the Limberg flap to borrow healthy skin from nearby. This is not just about closing a gap, it is about preserving movement in areas like the eyelids or lips. We explain exactly where the incision goes and how the blood supply will be monitored over the first two weeks, so you aren't guessing about the recovery process.
When we talk about advanced reconstructive surgery, we are moving beyond simple aesthetic fixes. Whether it is removing a Basal Cell Carcinoma or correcting burn tissue, our priority at the Sector 49 clinic is functional preservation.
The Reality of Flap Surgery
For larger skin defects—especially after cancer excision—we cannot just pull skin together, as that would cause distortion. Instead, we use local flap techniques. By rotating healthy skin from an adjacent area, we close the gap without putting tension on the surrounding features. For facial areas, this requires micro-precision to ensure the eyelid or lip maintains its natural shape and function.
Burn Scar & Hair Restoration
Burn injuries often leave tissue that is rigid and hairless. In these cases, a standard graft might not be enough. We use tissue expansion or advanced hair transplantation to restore natural hair growth over scar tissue. This is a significant option for anyone who has lost their hairline or eyebrow definition due to previous burns.
Fat Grafting for Volume
As we age, hands often become a tell-tale sign of volume loss, with prominent veins and thin skin. We use your own body fat, known as autologous fat grafting, to add volume back. Because it is your own tissue, the body accepts it well, and it reduces that skeletal appearance, providing a more youthful look.
What to Expect
We are transparent about the process. Surgery is not magic; a scar cannot be completely erased. We focus on making them faint and ensuring the area functions as it should. Recovery involves managing drains for a few days and monitoring the blood supply to the flap. We will see you on Day 3, 7, and 14 to ensure everything is healing correctly. If you are in Delhi NCR, come by the clinic to discuss how we can help restore the natural form.
