My Evidence-Based Coaching Philosophy
Fitness is full of circus acts and marketing fluff. I use my PhD in Strength and Conditioning to cut through that noise, focusing purely on evidence-based methods that build resilience, power, and real-world strength.
I don't coach like I train. My personal training involves experimentation, but my coaching is about applying proven, evidence-based principles tailored to the individual. The results of the people I coach are the true reflection of my methods.

Working out doesn't make you a coach, just like driving a car doesn't make you a mechanic. My job is coaching, which is a social activity grounded in pedagogy and an understanding of human physiology. My passion is helping others improve, not just my own training.

About My Coaching Philosophy
Working out doesn't make you a coach, just like driving a car doesn't make you a mechanic. A lot of people conflate their personal training with professional coaching. My coaching is a social process based on pedagogy, biomechanics, and physiological adaptation, not a reflection of what I do to keep myself entertained in the gym. If you want results, you need a program built on principles, not just someone who looks like they lift.
Why Science Beats Hype
The fitness industry loves fads. You see them everywhere: 'dangerous' exercises that aren't, 'functional' training that doesn't actually improve function, and coaches who think their own physique is the ultimate validation of their programming.
My approach is different. It is built on a simple premise: the body is not fragile. It is a biological organism that adapts to specific stressors. My job is to manage those stressors—volume, intensity, load—to produce the specific physiological qualities you need, whether you are a competitive athlete or someone wanting to stay capable as you age.
My Four Pillars of Programming
Every program I build, whether it is for an athlete or a general population client, hits four fundamental areas:
- Heavy Lifting: Barbells and machines to build raw strength.
- Plyometrics: Jumping and explosive movements for power development.
- Sprinting: Proper mechanics for speed and force production.
- Cardio: Heart health and capacity, because your engine matters.
The 'Un-Trainable' Ecosystem
You do not need to wait for perfect conditions or a perfect body to start. We use data to track your RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) and RIR (Reps In Reserve) to ensure you are actually training hard enough, not just going through the motions. Through the Un-Trainable app, we manage your long-term progression. It is not about doing everything at once; it is about doing the right things consistently over time. If you are tired of the guesswork and want a program that actually makes sense, let's talk.
