About Sunset Grooves & Daytime Parties
My daytime sets are about balance. I do not just blast club tracks at noon; I design a musical journey starting with soulful deep house or retro pop while guests are mingling and dining. As the sun begins to set, I gradually introduce more groove and rhythm to shift the energy from a relaxed brunch into a vibrant sundowner experience.
Managing the Daylight Vibe
Daytime parties need a different energy than the club. When I perform at venues like Olive Bar and Kitchen, I prioritize volume management. You want the music to be the backdrop, not an obstacle to conversation. I lean on my 'Retro Affairs' collection—70s, 80s, and 90s classics blended with modern beats—which works perfectly for brunches and corporate mixers.
The Sunset Transition
For pool parties and beach events, I treat the sunset as a cue to change gears. I start with light, airy sounds that match the heat and daylight. As the light changes, I move into Afro House and melodic house. This shift is subtle but essential. It keeps the crowd engaged without forcing them to dance before they are ready.
Travel and Logistics
I am based in Mumbai but I regularly travel to locations like Lonavala and beyond for destination pool parties and weekend getaways. My setup is portable and professional. I bring my MacBook Pro with Rekordbox and performance USBs to every gig.
What I need from your side:
- Sound System: Venue or client must provide the PA system, console table, and Pioneer CDJ setup (or equivalent).
- Prep: I arrive 45-60 minutes early for sound checks to ensure the levels are dialed in before your first guest arrives.
