Behind the Scenes: The Culture Driving My Sound

Music is more than just audio. It is the environment, the history, and the community. This is a look into the culture that drives my work, from the booth to the streets.

The original, custom-built Boxout.fm DJ booth, covered in stickers and signatures. This piece of furniture holds years of history and represents the community we've built.

A close-up of the graffiti and stickers on the OG DJ booth. Every mark tells a story of an artist who passed through our studio.

The Boxout.fm booth with its iconic neon sign. This is the heart of our community radio station, a project I founded to champion alternative music in India.

The side of the DJ booth, covered in stickers from artists and labels around the world. It's a physical representation of our global connections.

About this collection

This original booth is more than just a desk. It is a physical artifact of the community I built with Boxout.fm, covered in layers of stickers from every artist who stepped into our studio. It represents the raw, hands-on energy I bring to every set, whether I am spinning vinyl or hosting a street-level pop-up.

My work is rooted in sound system culture. Music is not just about the speakers or the software. It is about the people, the history, and the environment. Boxout.fm started as a way to champion alternative music in India, and the booth you see in these images is the center of that journey. Every sticker on the wood tells a story of an artist or a show that helped shape our scene.

I apply this same logic to every event. When I am at a club or a brand launch, I am not just playing files. I am reading the room and connecting genres. I avoid the standard top 40 playlists because they lack soul. Instead, I pull from my collection of dubplates, global bass, and rare vinyl. If you want a standard wedding mix, that is not me. If you want a vibe that shifts the energy and keeps people guessing, then we should talk.

I started in Delhi, grew up in Sharjah, and refined my style across Europe. That mix of influences shows up in how I work. Whether I am on the mic hosting a crowd or behind the decks blending reggae and grime, the goal is always to create a space where everyone feels welcome. No cliques, just play.

I moved back to India to shake things up because I was tired of hearing the same sounds. My music is about community and energy, built on a foundation of global bass, reggae, and dub culture. This collection of images captures the raw roots of the scene I built, not just the party.
