Technical Setup
- Console: 2 Technics SL-1200 Turntables and a Boutique Rotary Mixer for warm analog sound.
- Sound System: PA system suitable for up to 150 guests (2 Tops, 2 Subs).
- Booth: Signature rustic wooden console to match the visual vibe.

My Approach
I’m all about the vibe and the people. When I came back to India, I wanted to break the usual scene and bring new sounds to the front. For me, it’s not just about spinning tracks - it’s about building a space where good music and good folks connect. No clique, just play.
What I Do
I curate and manage music events, but honestly, it’s more like crafting cultural experiences. Whether it’s a multi-day festival or a small DIY pop-up, I handle everything - concept, artist curation, logistics. I want each event to have its own energy, something you won’t find anywhere else.
Event Formats
- Large-Scale Festivals: Like Jazz Weekender in Delhi. Daytime, outdoor, all-ages, under a banyan tree. We bring together international and Indian artists for a real community vibe. Every detail is independent and intentional.
- Community-driven club nights: Boxout Wednesdays is where the city meets global sounds. Nights like ‘Like Glue’ are pure dancehall - heatstorm, lava settings, full power.
- DIY pop-up music events: City Goes Wax is my jam. All-vinyl DJ sets, live BBQ, vintage merch. It’s a full-on cultural moment, built from scratch with the community.
- Brand sonic identity creation: I work with brands to shape their sound for special events. From Andy Warhol exhibition sets to launches for Amiri, G-Shock, Royal Enfield - I match music to the brand’s vibe.
My Philosophy
Authenticity and community first. I’m here to give a platform to sounds that need to be heard, local or global. Clubs don’t run me, we build our own culture. Each one reach one. Tell your crew.

My Story
I’m DJ Mocity - born in Delhi, grew up between Sharjah and with roots going back to Iraq. Football games, chaos, family, all mixed in. Saw Iraq play in Amman as a kid, then again in Abu Dhabi after 28 years - wild! Boxout.fm started as a UAE idea, shaped by Europe, landed in India. Music, running, city traffic, old stadiums, everything’s looping back. Feels like I’m always coming home, one way or another.
My Work
What I Do - DJ, MC, and music curator. I throw parties, vinyl pop-up events, and run festivals like Jazz Weekender.
My Sound - Global bass music, raw and loud. No rinse-repeat. Slow warm-up DJ sessions with fresh, weird, and wonderful tunes.
Projects - Founder of Boxout.fm, run 'Like Glue' dancehall party nights and 'City Goes Wax' vinyl sessions. All about real community, not just gigs.
