When I am behind the console, my eyes are not glued to the screen; I am watching the dance floor to see if the crowd is feeling the Marathi beats or waiting for a Bollywood remix. I use a Pioneer controller for precision mixing so there is never a dead moment between tracks, keeping the flow continuous for your guests.
It Is All About the Flow
People often think being a DJ is just hitting play on a playlist, but it is actually a mix of technical precision and reading the room. Whether I am at a college fest in Navi Mumbai or a private Sangeet, my goal is to keep the energy moving. I do not use pre-recorded sets because every crowd reacts differently. I need to be ready to pivot from a fast-paced EDM drop to a classic Bollywood sing-along if that is what the energy demands.
My Setup
Reliability is key. I carry my own Pioneer DJ controller to every gig, which allows me to blend tracks seamlessly. For larger setups, I bring in professional sound systems—dual 18-inch subwoofers for that deep bass feel and high-mid tops to ensure the vocals stay crisp. If you are hosting in a banquet hall or an open-air venue, I scale the equipment accordingly. Lighting is the final piece of the puzzle. I work with moving head lights and fog machines to create that concert vibe that gets people onto the dance floor.
