See how I remove, clean, and re-apply hair patches to keep your look fresh, secure, and completely natural.

This is my standard 25-day maintenance service. I begin by removing the lifted patch, cleaning the scalp, and trimming the regrown hair. I then apply a scalp protector to prevent itching before using glue for a fresh, secure bond that will last.

This client came to me for a full service. You can see the initial condition of his scalp. My process involves a thorough clean-up and careful re-application to ensure the final result is not just stylish but also comfortable and healthy for the scalp.

Here, the client's crown area was thinning. I started by applying glue, then carefully placed the hair patch. After that, I used a hair dryer and serum to style and blend it, making sure the final look was full, natural, and completely undetectable from any angle.

A client's hair after a full service. I removed the old patch, trimmed the hair growth, and reapplied the system for a fresh look. He was very happy with the result, and that's what matters most to me.

This collage shows the key steps of my service. It includes trimming the client's natural hair for a clean base, applying the hair patch with tape, and then blow-drying and styling for a perfect, voluminous finish.

The transformation process involves carefully shaving the area to prepare for the patch. Then, after application, I focus on styling to create a modern, high-volume look that blends seamlessly with the client's own hair.

Precision is key. Here, I am trimming the client's sideburns and neckline to ensure a sharp, clean look. This detailed work is essential for making the hair patch blend perfectly and look completely natural.

This video shows the detailed steps of preparing the scalp and applying the hair patch. I use a combination of trimming, applying adhesive, and carefully placing the patch to ensure a secure and natural-looking fit every time.

About The Complete Service: Before, During & After

Most people notice their patch starts lifting around the 25-day mark, which is when sweat and residue build-up become hard to manage at home. My full maintenance service is not just about sticking it back on; I strip away old adhesive residue from your scalp, trim back your natural hair, and re-apply the system using specific medical-grade products to ensure that invisible, seamless blend you expect.

Maintaining a hair patch is like looking after any other style, but it requires specific steps to keep it looking real. When you come in for a service, I follow a strict process to make sure your scalp stays healthy and the patch stays undetectable.

The Maintenance Journey

  1. Safe De-bonding: I start by using a specialized solvent to gently detach the patch. This protects your natural hair roots and prevents tearing on the delicate lace or skin base.

  2. Deep Scalp Cleansing: Before putting anything back on, I use an anti-residue shampoo to clean the scalp. This removes the build-up of oil, dead skin, and old glue, which is the main cause of itching.

  3. Natural Hair Prep: Your own hair grows in the horseshoe pattern even under the patch. I trim this regrowth to ensure the bonding surface is perfectly flat. If this isn't done, the patch will lift within a few days.

  4. Barrier Protection: To stop that itchy feeling, I apply a medical-grade scalp protector. This creates a sweat-resistant shield between your skin and the adhesive.

  5. Precision Bonding: Whether you prefer the invisible hold of No-Shine tape for the front hairline or the heavy-duty grip of liquid glue, I apply it strategically. I align the edges with your natural forehead wrinkles to make the transition look like real skin.

  6. Blending and Styling: This is the most important part. I use a blending cut to merge your natural side hair with the patch. Finally, I apply serum and use a blow dryer to set the volume, ensuring the final result looks like it grew out of your scalp.
