About The Team & The Gear
I do not believe in taking chances with sound quality, which is why I exclusively use Pioneer CDJ-3000s for every set. This is not just about the hardware. It is about having a dedicated sound engineer and my percussionist brother, Rohin, working in sync with me to manage live inputs and keep the levels perfect so you never get that jarring feedback or drop in energy.
My Technical Setup
To get the crowd moving, you need crystal-clear audio. I rely on a full Pioneer CDJ-3000 Nexus setup for zero-latency audio and a Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 mixer. Whether I am playing at a massive stadium or a private home party, the gear remains the same. I run everything through a MacBook with Rekordbox, using professional XLR interconnects to link directly into the venue's PA system. This minimizes the risk of technical glitches and ensures that the mix you hear is exactly what I intended.
The 'Family of Sound'
A great party requires more than one person. For most of my high-energy events, my brother Rohin joins me on percussion, bringing live Djembe, Congas, or electronic pads into the mix. We perform a live jugalbandi, which is where the real magic happens. Since we have been playing together for years, we have an unspoken rhythm that keeps the dance floor packed.
Behind the Scenes
My crew includes a dedicated sound engineer who handles the mix between the pre-recorded tracks and the live percussion. This is crucial because it balances the levels so the live drums do not drown out the Bollywood remix basslines. I also bring a production manager to coordinate with the venue AV team well before the guests arrive. My goal is simple: you show up to have a good time, and we handle the technical side so the music never stops.
