Dark colors do not mean a small kitchen. At Embassy Lake Terraces, we used glossy blue cabinets and strategic lighting to create a space that feels expansive, moody, and deeply personal.

The combination of glossy blue cabinets and a dark, reflective backsplash creates a sleek and moody atmosphere. The under-cabinet lighting is essential here, highlighting the workspace and adding a beautiful glow that bounces off the surfaces.

This close-up shows the beauty of the polished granite countertop and backsplash. The glossy finish is not only stylish but also incredibly practical, as it's non-porous and very easy to wipe clean, perfect for a busy kitchen.

This dynamic video showcases the kitchen's features, from the integrated oven to the unique gold-accented hob. It demonstrates how even in a dark-themed kitchen, thoughtful details and reflective surfaces can make the space feel alive and luxurious.

The secret to making this dark kitchen work is the interplay of light and texture. We used high-gloss blue cabinetry that reflects ambient light, paired with black granite that creates a seamless look without demanding constant upkeep. It is a space designed for someone who loves to cook but prefers a kitchen that wipes clean in seconds.

This is the baking kitchen from my Modern Spanish Home project, designed to be the heart of the home. I created distinct zones for every task, from the farmhouse sink under the window to the tall arched display cabinet. The deep blue cabinetry grounds the space, while the custom arched range hood serves as a stunning focal point.11
A breakfast bar is perfect for casual meals and connecting the kitchen to the rest of the home. Here, I used the same statement tile from the kitchen backsplash to create continuity. The leather and wood bar stools add warmth and texture, inviting family and friends to pull up a seat.
This close-up shows the custom arched chimney hood and the built-in nooks I designed to hold everyday cooking essentials. The patterned tile backsplash extends all the way to the ceiling, making a dramatic statement and adding a layer of beautiful detail to this Spanish-inspired kitchen design.
