The Journey of Our Scratch Coding Competition
We started this competition because we wanted kids to see screens as tools for creation, not just toys for playing. Here is the story behind our mission to turn young gamers into future tech creators.
This was a special day for me. I went back to my old school after 13 years, not as a student, but to invite the next generation of coders to our competition. It was a full circle moment that reminded me why we do what we do.
A short, creative teaser video we made to build excitement for the competition announcement. We wanted to show that something big and fiery was on its way for young coders.
This was one of our first "Coming Soon" announcements for the Scratch Coding Competition. The graphic highlights that beginners are welcome and that the focus is on imagination and creativity.
About Our Competition Story
Our competition focuses on Scratch, a block-based coding language that makes programming feel like solving a jigsaw puzzle rather than writing lines of complex text. We host this for kids aged 6 to 15, providing live orientation webinars and project templates to ensure that even complete beginners can showcase their imagination without feeling overwhelmed.
When we started Coders Kingdome, we asked ourselves why our children were just consuming content instead of building it. Humare time pe toh yeh sab tha hi nahi (we didn't have this in our time), but now coding is a digital literacy skill as vital as reading or writing. We decided to create a platform where kids don't just learn to code but actually compete and get recognized for their unique ideas. This competition isn't about finding the 'best' code. It is about courage and creative confidence.
We split participants into two groups, Juniors (6-9) and Seniors (10-15), because we know learning styles differ at every age. Whether your child is building a simple animation or a complex game, they get a full month to work on their project, with our team available to guide them through the process. We believe that seeing a project they built live on screen is the best way to ignite a lifelong interest in tech. We want every child to leave this competition feeling like they achieved something special, which is why every participant gets a digital e-certificate for their hard work.
