Climbing for All: Our Women-Only Community Mission
We’re here to break barriers and build a sisterhood. Whether you're new to the wall or looking to connect, join us in creating a safe, bold, and supportive space for every woman who climbs. 🫶🏽
This video of local school girls bicycling to our session at the Bengal Boulder Fest melts our hearts. Their determination to join us shows why accessibility is so important.
The highlight of the Bengal Boulder Fest was hosting a session for local school girls. Here they are, gathered and ready to try climbing for the first time.
Our amazing women climbers who helped lead the session for the school girls. It's all about sharing our passion and empowering the next generation.
The girls gathered in a circle for a quick introduction to bouldering and safety. Despite being shy at first, their excitement grew with every climb.
Watching the school girls cheer each other on was incredible. This is the supportive environment we strive to create in all our sessions.
A young girl from the local village confidently starts her first climb as her schoolmates and our instructors watch and support her.
Another shot of a student trying out bouldering for the first time. Our goal is to give them the opportunity to experience the joy of climbing.
The volunteer crew for our outreach session at the Bengal Boulder Fest. It takes a community to make these events happen.
More of the girls bicycling through the fields to get to the boulders. A powerful image of their enthusiasm and effort.
The journey to the rocks is part of the adventure! We were so inspired by the girls who biked to join our climbing session.
About Our Mission: Climbing for All
We don't just climb; we build a support system. From our beginner workshops in urban gyms to our community outreach festivals where we introduce rural school girls to the sport, our mission is to make climbing accessible and safe for every woman, regardless of her background or experience level.
We started CLAW because we wanted a space where being 'rowdy and rambunctious' was the norm. We are a registered non-profit, which means our work goes beyond the gym wall. We partner with local climbing gyms in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad to keep the community growing, but our heart really lies in the outreach.
You might have seen our work at events like the Bengal Boulder Fest, where we’ve had the privilege of introducing local village school girls to the thrill of bouldering. Watching them bicycle to the boulders in their uniforms, ready to try something completely new, is the exact reason we do what we do. 🪨
Our mission is to normalize the 'female climber' experience. That means having the honest conversations—whether it’s about managing periods while climbing outdoors or sharing the ups and downs of mental health. We are not therapists, but we are a group of women who hold space for each other when things get tough. We believe that when women have the right gear, the right support, and a safe environment, they can accomplish incredible things. If you’re looking to find a crew that supports you on and off the wall, come join a session. No experience is needed, and we’ve got all the gear. Chale, let’s get climbing! 🧗🏽♀️
