Training isn't magic, and it doesn't end at my facility. If you don't know how to handle your dog, the training won't last. Here is how we transfer the skills to you, making sure your home stays balanced and calm.

I can't stress this enough: owner handling sessions are non-negotiable. This is where we transfer the skills to you, ensuring you can communicate effectively and continue the progress we made. A balanced relationship requires both of you to be on the same page.

This is Part 1 of an owner handling session. I am explaining the importance of a loose leash and relaxed body posture. A stiff handler creates a tense dog, so I teach owners how to create a balanced, free-flowing relationship.

Part 2 of the owner handling session. Here, I am correcting the owner's body posture. Simple adjustments in how you stand and use your hands can make a huge difference in how your dog understands your cues.

This is a great example of an owner putting the training into practice. After we worked on his dog's hyperactivity, the owner is now able to manage the situation calmly and effectively at his own front gate.

A proud moment for any dog owner. Here, she is handling her dog with confidence in a public space, successfully managing a major distraction. This is the result of her active participation in the training process.

Teaching a dog how to behave around guests is one thing. Teaching the owner how to manage the interaction is just as important. Here, the owner is learning how to keep her dog engaged and calm when new people arrive.

The training doesn't stop at my facility. This video shows Raju's conditioning at home after his Board & Train program. Follow-up sessions are crucial to ensure the learned behaviors are sustained in the dog's own territory.

Muzzle conditioning should be a positive experience. Here, I am guiding the owner on how to introduce the muzzle using rewards, so the dog associates it with something good rather than something to be feared.

This is a home follow-up session. We are using classical conditioning to help the dog associate the balcony, a place that might have caused anxiety, with a positive experience like feeding time.

My Board & Train program includes follow-up courses in the dog's own environment. Here, we are in a new, distracting location with a room full of people, proofing Theo's training with his owners by his side.

About Owner Handling & Follow-Up Sessions

Most owners think a tight leash equals control, but it actually creates tension. In these sessions, we focus on your body posture and leash mechanics. If you hold the leash stiff, your dog feels that anxiety. I will teach you how to maintain a loose, communicative connection so your dog understands what you want, even when he is excited or distracted.
