How I Shoot Bridal Portraits

Photography in the mountains brings unique lighting challenges and opportunities. I don't believe in over-editing your skin or forcing you into stiff poses. My approach to bridal photography is a mix of two styles:

• Dramatic Portraits: I love playing with light sources. A single lamp or a window shadow can create a moody, cinematic look that highlights the embroidery of your lehenga and the intricate details of your jewelry. This is perfect for those quiet, intimate frames.
• Natural Himachal Backdrops: When we shoot outdoors, the landscape does the heavy lifting. From the peaks in Chamba to the pine forests near Shimla, I use the natural mountain light and terrain to frame you, ensuring the grandeur of the surroundings complements your look rather than distracting from it.

Preparing for Your Shoot

If you want the best results, think about these two things before we start:

1. The Details: I always make time for 'detail shots'—your nath, your kalire, the henna on your hands. If you have any family heirlooms you are wearing, let me know. These items tell a story.
2. Comfort is Key: You will see this in my photos. The brides who look the best are the ones who are laughing and relaxed. If you are feeling overwhelmed, tell me. We will take a break, get some air, and restart when you are ready.
