Custom Pooja Room Designs & Traditional Spaces

We design peaceful pooja spaces that balance tradition with modern home layouts, focusing on quality woodwork and thoughtful lighting.

The entrance to this pooja room features a beautifully carved Burma teak door. Craftsmanship like this adds a significant traditional element to the home, creating a special entry to the sacred space.

Here, the pooja unit is designed as a glass-enclosed space within the living area. This approach keeps the space separate and sacred while allowing it to feel connected to the rest of the home.

For this home, we created a simple and elegant pooja corner using floating wooden shelves. This is a great way to create a dedicated prayer space without requiring a separate room.

About this collection

The biggest challenge with pooja rooms in city apartments is balancing tradition with space constraints. We often use CNC-cut panels or glass enclosures to keep the area separate yet open. When we install a teak door or a jali screen, we ensure the wood is properly treated so it lasts, and we plan the lighting specifically to highlight the idols without creating glare.

Creating a Sacred Space

A pooja room or corner serves as the spiritual center of your home. Whether you have a villa with space for a dedicated room or a compact apartment needing a functional wall-mounted unit, the design approach should prioritize peace and ease of maintenance.

Our Approach to Materials

For traditional designs, we often use Burma Teak. It is durable and allows for fine, intricate carvings that stand the test of time. For clients who prefer a mix of modern and traditional, we use CNC-cut panels or jali work. This provides the aesthetic of a temple screen while allowing light and air to pass through, keeping the unit from feeling boxed in.

Space and Layout

If space is tight, we don't always build a full room. We can create floating pooja units with specific storage drawers for diyas, incense, and prayer books. This keeps the living area clutter-free. For those with larger homes, we design glass-enclosed spaces. This adds a layer of separation, keeping the area quiet while maintaining visual connection with the rest of the house.

Lighting and Maintenance

Lighting is critical. We avoid harsh spotlights that create harsh shadows on idols. Instead, we use warm-toned strip lighting or cove lights that provide a soft, ambient glow. From a maintenance perspective, we recommend finishes that are easy to wipe clean, as these areas often collect dust and oil residue. We ensure that every surface we use is durable and easy to manage, so your daily rituals remain hassle-free.

I am Bhuvanesh from Brick and Earth. I believe a pooja room should feel like a sanctuary, not just a decorated shelf. My team and I focus on getting the woodwork and lighting right so you have a functional, peaceful space for your daily prayers.
