Cave Exploration: Raw Caving Expeditions and Training
Forget tourist paths. We take you deep into wild, untouched cave systems to crawl, squeeze, and navigate through underground chambers with professional safety protocols.
Deep inside Mayavi Caves near Bellary, we found these incredible sparkling mineral deposits. It felt like discovering a chest of diamonds in another world.
Moving through a narrow, rocky passage deep inside a cave system. This is what caving is about: using your body to navigate a completely natural, underground environment.
Exploring Golora caves near Bangalore. I'm always checking the route and giving instructions. Safety is the first step, then the adventure begins.
Crawling through a flooded, rock-cut water reservoir inside the historic Ratanghad Fort. We mix history with adventure, exploring engineering marvels from the past.
A closer look at the shining mineral flowstone covering the walls of Mayavi Caves. The geology in these hidden places is just spectacular.
Wading through the dark and narrow Minaut Slot in Meghalaya. This canyon is so enclosed it feels like a cave, with the stream guiding you through.
About Cave Exploration (Caving)
This isn't about walking into a tourist cave with a guide pointing at rocks. It's about 'Legs, not the hip' movement, learning to manage your gear in tight spaces, and understanding the geology beneath your feet. We focus on teaching you the technical skills—how to handle ropes, knots, and headlamps—so you can navigate these wild underground environments safely.
Our Approach to Caving
We treat caving like a technical skill, not a sightseeing trip. Whether you are crawling through talus caves near Bangalore, exploring the sparkling mineral deposits at Mayavi, or wading through slot canyons in Meghalaya, the objective is the same: to move responsibly through the environment.
What We Teach
Since we are a school, not a tour agency, every trip includes basic training on:
- Navigation: How to move efficiently through narrow, flooded, or vertical rock passages.
- Gear Management: Proper use of helmets, headlamps, and ropes.
- Safety Protocol: Understanding 3-point contact and counter-pressure techniques to avoid injury.
Where We Go
We actively seek out non-commercial locations where we can map new routes or explore systems that aren't on typical maps.
- Talus Caves (Near Bangalore): Perfect for beginners to learn the basics of squeezing and crawling without the logistics of a multi-day trip.
- Ratanghad Fort Reservoirs: A mix of history and exploration, crawling through ancient, water-cut passages.
- Mayavi & Meghalaya: Advanced, multi-day expeditions featuring complex cave systems, slot canyons, and deep-earth exploration.
Safety First
We maintain a high support ratio of at least one certified instructor per 8-10 participants. All gear is UIAA certified. You will get muddy, you will be tired, and you will learn how to handle the dark like a pro.
