Interactive Online Reading Classes for Kids

We keep groups intentionally small, with just 5 to 10 children per cohort, so every reader gets a turn to read aloud and share their thoughts. This is not a lecture, it is a conversation. During our Zoom sessions, we screen-share the text and use visual aids to clear up confusing words, turning vocabulary building into a game rather than a chore.

Our Approach to Online Reading

Books are more than just words on a page, they are friends. In our online sessions, we move beyond passive reading. We pick books that spark curiosity—from quirky adventures to emotional stories—and use them as a launchpad for deep discussions. Whether it is a classic like Because of Winn Dixie or a new discovery, we dive into the plot, character choices, and the emotions behind the story.

Why This Works for Kids Aged 7-12

• Word Detective Sessions: We treat vocabulary as a puzzle. Instead of memorizing definitions, we spot new words in the context of the story and figure out what they mean. It sticks because it connects to the characters they love.
• Confidence Building: Many children start off shy. By taking turns reading aloud in a safe, judgment-free environment, they learn to find their voice and express their opinions without fear.
• Creative Writing Drills: We follow up our reading with quick, fun writing exercises. This helps children process what they have just read and gives them a safe space to practice their own storytelling skills.

The Logistics

We meet three times a week for an hour. Since these are live Zoom calls, your child joins from the comfort of home, but the energy remains high. Every session is designed to make reading the highlight of their day, not another task on their to-do list.
