Creative Storytelling and Author Workshops for Kids
We bring stories to life by inviting the authors themselves. Kids get to hear tales, try hands-on activities, and meet the real creators behind their favorite books.
We love bringing stories to life with special in-person events. Here, we had author and chef Sadaf Hussain for a reading of his book, followed by a hands-on carrot soup making workshop. It’s this blend of reading and creative, real-world activities that makes learning with us a memorable adventure.
This poster for our "The Carrot Soup" event shows how we structure our special workshops. We combine storytelling directly from the author with a unique activity like flameless cooking, and every child gets to take home an autographed copy of the book.
About Creative Workshops with Authors
It is one thing to read a story, but it is magic when the author is sitting right there. In these offline workshops, we bridge that gap between the page and the real world. We pick a book, invite the author, and pair the reading with a hands-on activity like flameless cooking or crafts, so kids feel the story rather than just hearing it. Every child also walks home with a book signed by the author, which usually becomes their most prized possession.
Why We Host Author Workshops
Books should not stay on the shelf. When a child sees the person who wrote the story, the characters suddenly feel real. Our workshops are designed to break the barrier between a reader and a writer. We create an environment where kids can ask questions, share their own ideas, and get inspired by the people who created their favorite worlds.
What Happens at an Event
Each workshop is unique because it depends on the book and the author. For example, when we hosted Chef and Author Sadaf Hussain for a reading of The Carrot Soup, we did not just read the book. We turned the event into a kitchen lab, guiding the children through a flameless cooking session. They learned where the ingredients came from and how a story can inspire a recipe. It is messy, it is loud, and it is entirely fun.
Building Confidence
We focus on interactive storytelling for kids to help them find their voice. Whether it is an author meet and greet or a thematic craft session, the goal is the same: to show children that reading is a gateway to other activities.
- Face-to-face interaction: Kids learn that authors are real people, not just names on a cover.
- Hands-on engagement: We pair reading with related activities like arts, crafts, or cooking to make the concepts stick.
- Signed Keepsakes: Every attendee takes home a personalized, signed copy of the book, creating a tangible connection to the day.
We host these offline workshops at specific venues across Delhi. If you are looking for storytelling workshops that go beyond just sitting and listening, join us at our next session.
Avid Readers Club
I am Romita, and I started this club because I believe books should be felt, not just read. In these workshops, I want your child to see that authors are real people, just like them. It is all about swapping screen time for a bit of messy, creative fun with a new story.
