Most people visit Coorg for the sightseeing, but we find the best part is actually staying on a working estate. You wake up to the smell of fresh coffee beans rather than city traffic, and the landscape is usually a mix of pepper vines, cardamom bushes, and fruit trees. We focus on properties that feel like a home, not a resort.

What to Expect

• The Heritage Vibe: Many of these estates are ancestral homes. This means solid wooden architecture, vintage furniture, and a lot of history in the walls. They are cool and breezy, so you rarely miss the AC.
• The Food: This is where the real Kodava culture lives. Expect meals that use local produce—bamboo shoot curries, fresh pork, or classic akki roti. We make sure our hosts serve exactly what they eat at home, so you are not getting a watered-down buffet.
• The Pace: There is no rush here. Spend your mornings walking the trails behind the cottages or visiting the nearby river. If you want to spot birds or learn how coffee is processed, the plantation owners are usually happy to walk you through it.

A Quick Heads-Up

Since we lean towards off-beat stays, these aren't always luxury hotels with room service on call. You might be in a remote part of the district. We always suggest carrying your own essentials, like good walking shoes and bug spray. If you are travelling with pets or looking for a specific type of view—maybe a balcony overlooking the Kaveri or a room tucked deep inside the woods—just let us know.
