About Avatars of Vishnu: Divine Incarnations
When I paint figures like Vitthal or Ram Lalla, my priority is capturing the specific 'Bhaav' or emotional resonance. I don't just replicate existing images; I build the artwork layer by layer, focusing on accurate iconography like the shape of the Tilak, the flow of the flower garlands, and the jewelry, so the final piece fits naturally into a home puja room or a living space.
My digital paintings are created on a tablet, allowing me to blend a semi-realistic, painterly aesthetic with traditional spiritual iconography.
The Creation Process
Every piece begins as a rough sketch to get the composition right. I then move to digital detailing, focusing on skin textures, light, and drapery. This digital approach ensures that every file I deliver is high-resolution (300 DPI) and ready to be printed on canvas up to A2 size without losing clarity. Whether you want the serene, welcoming posture of Vitthal standing on the banks of the Chandrabhaga or the heroic stance of Ram Lalla, I ensure the outcome respects the tradition behind the deity.
Customization
If you have a specific vision, I can help you realize it. I offer custom commissions where we can decide the mood and setting for the deity—whether it is a simple atmospheric background or a detailed architectural setting. You get a high-quality soft copy that you can take to your local printer for a frame of your choice, making it a unique addition to your home or office.
Atharva S Barapatre
Hi, I’m Atharva. For me, art is like a prayer—I see the divine in everything, and I try to show that in my work. Whether it’s Vitthal’s grace or the new Ram Lalla form, my work is about turning that faith into something you can hang on your wall.
