Timeless peacocks, royal elephants, and intricate detailing to bring back the charm of classic Indian weddings.

A sophisticated and clean design featuring elegant swans on the arms and peacocks on the palms. The symmetrical patterns and use of negative space are hallmarks of classic Rajasthani art.

This design is filled with traditional motifs, including peacocks in windows (jharokhas) and palm trees. The patchwork style combines different patterns like checks and florals for a rich, dense look.

A simple yet striking design featuring two love birds as the centerpiece of the palm. The surrounding lotus motifs and patterned fingers complete this elegant piece of henna art.

A beautiful design featuring a peacock resting under a tree. The flowing patterns on the palm and detailed finger work complement the central motif perfectly.

About Traditional Indian & Rajasthani Motifs

For these dense, traditional designs, I use a specific palm-filling technique where I layer motifs like peacocks and lotus buds to ensure the design looks rich even before the stain sets in. I always recommend letting the henna dry for at least six hours to get that deep, dark mahogany shade that makes these traditional patterns really pop.

Traditional Indian and Rajasthani mehndi is all about the story within the design. When I sit down to create these pieces, I focus on the balance between negative space and the heavy, intricate patterns that define this style. Whether it is the royal elephant, the classic peacock with its flowing tail, or the detailed jharokha (window) motifs, every element has a purpose.

Why Choose Traditional Rajasthani?

This style is distinct because of its density. Unlike modern Arabic designs that rely on bold lines, traditional art requires patience and precision. We weave in checks, floral mandalas, and architectural elements that cover the hand from fingertip to forearm. It is perfect for weddings where you want your henna to look elaborate and classic in photographs.

Achieving the Perfect Dark Stain

I believe the stain is just as important as the design. 'Rang jaau joo mai haat lagau' is the goal—I want the colour to be as vibrant as the celebration. We use 100% natural, organic henna powder mixed with essential oils, which we prepare fresh to ensure quality. To get that deep, maroon colour, avoid washing your hands immediately after removal. Keep the henna dry and warm, and let it oxidize naturally over 24 hours.

Customization for Your Event

While these patterns are rooted in tradition, I can always customize them to fit your story. Whether you want your partner's name hidden in the peacock's feathers or a specific motif from your family history added to the wrist, we can incorporate it seamlessly. If you are in Kandivali or anywhere in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, I am happy to bring this art to your home for your special day.
