Candid Wedding Ritual Photography and Real Moments
Indian weddings are full of real stories, not just planned poses. I focus on the honest emotions that happen when you think no one is watching.
The fun and playful 'joota chupai' ritual. I love capturing these lighthearted negotiations and family banter that make Indian weddings so special.
The dance floor is where the energy is! This video captures the bride and her friends dancing their hearts out at the sangeet party.
A warm, heartfelt hug between the bride and her sister or best friend during the haldi ceremony. These are the moments to cherish.
A candid shot of the bride laughing as her family applies haldi, a moment of pure joy and blessing.
A low-angle shot capturing the ritual of applying haldi to the groom's face, a moment of tradition and fun.
A tender embrace between the bride and groom right after the varmala ceremony, a quiet moment of connection amidst the celebration.
The first hug as husband and wife. A simple, powerful, and emotional moment captured right after the wedding ceremony.
The couple's jubilant celebration after successfully exchanging garlands. This is what pure happiness looks like.
About Candid Moments & Cherished Rituals
For candid rituals like haldi or vidai, my team and I stay mobile to capture the genuine emotions as they unfold. We do not direct these moments; we simply wait for the laughter, the shared glances, and the quiet tears. This approach ensures your final album captures the actual energy of the event rather than just a series of posed smiles.
My approach to wedding photography is built around the idea that the best photos happen between the poses. When I am covering a wedding, I am looking for the story within the chaos. Whether it is the playful negotiation during joota chupai, the chaotic energy on the sangeet dance floor, or the emotional goodbye during vidai, my goal is to record these as they happened.
How I capture your rituals
- Haldi and Mehendi: These are my favorite events because they are raw. I focus on the messy joy, the bright colors, and the candid interactions between family members.
- Engagement and Roka: These capture the beginning of your story. I aim for shots that show the nervousness and the excitement of the ring exchange.
- The Wedding Day: From the baraat entry to the pheras, my team and I use a combination of candid documentary style and subtle guidance to ensure we capture the grandeur without losing the emotion.
Practical details
I work as a team for larger events to ensure we have eyes on both the bride and groom simultaneously. For a 3-day wedding, we bring a 5-6 member crew including a drone pilot to get those wide venue shots. You will receive a mix of high-resolution images, cinematic teasers for Instagram, and a full documentary-style edit of the events.
I am based in Ghaziabad but frequently travel across Delhi NCR and beyond for destination weddings. If you have a specific venue or a theme in mind, let me know. I prefer to discuss your specific rituals in advance so I know exactly which family members or moments matter most to you.
