About Intricate Hairstyles & Saree Draping
The secret to a perfect South Indian look isn't just the style, it’s the security. For my muhurtham brides, I use specific pinning techniques for Kanjeevaram sarees that ensure your pleats don’t budge during long rituals, and I reinforce floral braids so they stay fresh, secure, and comfortable even under the weight of heavy temple jewelry.
When you are sitting for a muhurtham, you need to know your look will last. I don't just drape a saree; I focus on the structural integrity of your Kanjeevaram so you can walk, sit, and perform rituals without worrying about your pleats or pallu slipping. I use ironed box pleats and safety pins strategically so the drape looks sharp and feels light, even if you are wearing a heavy silk saree.
For hair, it is all about blending tradition with comfort. My 'Poola Jada' work is one of my absolute favorites, but I know it can get heavy. I use volume stuffing and hair extensions to get that dramatic, thick braid look without putting unnecessary strain on your scalp. I make sure the fresh flowers or gold accessories are pinned securely so they don't shift when you move.
If it’s a reception or a sangeet, we shift gears to modern glam. I love creating Hollywood waves, textured messy buns, or sleek ponytails. I use heat styling tools like tongs and crimpers to set the structure so your hair holds its shape even under stage lights or flash photography. Whether it’s a traditional braid or a modern updo, my priority is making sure you feel like yourself—just a more polished, glowing version.
