I use heavy-grade, off-white canvas because it is sturdy and holds paint beautifully. I paint directly onto the fabric using specialized acrylics that bond with the fibers. Once the design is finished, I apply multiple coats of fabric-safe varnish. You can gently hand-wash these bags without worrying about the design fading away.
