Elegant & Traditional Portraits in Mumbai
Traditional doesn't mean you have to stand stiffly in a studio. I capture your ethnic style with a cinematic, candid approach using Mumbai as our backdrop.
This reel shows the behind-the-scenes and final results of a traditional Marathi bridal shoot. I focused on capturing details like the intricate blouse embroidery, the classic 'nath' nose ring, and the bride's elegant poses.
A striking portrait from a monsoon photoshoot. The backlighting from the street lamps and the model's glance over her shoulder create a dramatic, cinematic feel, even in the pouring rain.
The model's pose here beautifully shows the flow and detail of the sheer saree against the rainy, urban backdrop. This is a great example of a creative portrait session in challenging weather.
A full-length shot from the same rainy night session. The checkered floor, wet pavement, and soft streetlights create a unique and atmospheric setting for this elegant portrait.
This over-the-shoulder pose captures a candid, in-between moment. Even with a person in the background, the focus remains on the subject, showcasing her expression and the beautiful saree.
Another angle from the monsoon saree shoot, highlighting the model's graceful posture and the ambient lighting. This demonstrates my ability to create a variety of beautiful shots within a single theme.
This cinematic reel features a model in a beautiful red outfit, walking through a lush green park. I used slow-motion and different angles to create a dreamy, film-like quality.
A continuation of the park photoshoot, this video highlights different poses and expressions. The focus is on natural beauty, using the flowers and greenery as a soft, romantic backdrop.
About Elegant & Traditional Portraits
I don't believe in rigid posing. Whether you are wearing a heavy saree or a simple ethnic outfit, we will keep it moving. I focus on the details, like your jewelry or the embroidery, while capturing that natural grace you bring to the shot, all without a studio in sight.
My approach to traditional portraits is simple: we go where the light looks good. Mumbai has incredible textures, from the rain-slicked streets of South Bombay to the greenery of quiet local parks. I often shoot portraits during the golden hour or at night, using street lamps to create that moody, film-like lighting you see in my work.
When we shoot traditional attire, I am not just looking for the smile. I am looking for the flow of your dupatta, the detail in your nath, and the way you carry yourself. This isn't about standing still for hours. We will walk, talk, and I will guide you into frames that look like stills from a movie. If you are camera-shy, that is actually my favorite way to work. It helps me capture the 'in-between' moments that look more authentic than anything posed. Bring your outfits, and let me handle the angles.
